Customer for life, or Caribou Coffee FTW

Yesterday morning I pulled into the drive through for Caribou Coffee on highway 96 in Vadnais Heights.  Just before it was my turn to talk to the order box I reached for my back pocket and discovered that I had forgotten my wallet at home, just as I discovered my missing money a car pulled into the drive through behind me and I was trapped.  I got up to the order box and a friendly female voice said “Welcome to Caribou Coffee, what can I get for you today?”  I innocently replied “Nothing”.  The friendly female voice was obviously perplexed “okay” she said “what can I do for you?”  “Nothing” I replied “I’m just going to wait patiently until I can get back to the road.  I just realized I forgot my wallet”.  “Okay” she said “I’m sorry to hear that”.  I rolled my window back up and went back to listening to the latest episode of This American Life.  When I got to the front of the line I started driving right past the window when a hand popped out from the window and motioned for me to stop, so I did and I rolled down my window.  “We’ll give you a free one today, what can I get for you?”  Overjoyed I ordered my regular drink.  I told the cashier at the window “You just made a customer for life” and then I drove off with my coffee in hand.  That’s good business.

  1. Ssssnap! I’ve been torn between Caribou and Dunn Bros for awhile now, Caribou wins.
