Aero, Trojans and linux

I’m back using Vista, that didn’t take very long, did it? I watch a lot of flash video (hulu, youtube) and flash on Linux kind of sucks compared to Windows. And all of the replacement fonts on Linux are very ugly.

But it turns out that I had a Trojan in Vista which is why everything was running so slow. When I got this lappy it came preinstalled with McAfee virus scan, which normally I hate but it was a year subscription so I gave it another shot and it hosed me (that sentence ran on). McAfee never noticed the Trojan but AVG Free picked it up right away and got rid of it.

I also turned off the Aero interface in Vista and I find that I am a lot happier. Since the Trojan is gone and Aero is gone my lappy runs a ton faster. I’m happy now. I am still dual booting with Ubuntu because I need to learn how to use it better, but I don’t think I’ll be using it much.
